Thank you to all who joined us for our recent virtual launch celebration of How We Can Live: Principles of Black Lives Matter, featuring author Laleña Garcia and illustrator Caryn Davidson in conversation with Cicley Gay, Board Chair of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation!
If you missed it live (or just want to watch it again), you can access the webinar below, or here on YouTube. Keep reading for links to resources and booklists shared during the webinar and feel free to reach out for more information.
This lively conversation introduces readers to the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter movement and the work being done in school across the country through the Black Lives Matter at School organization. Educators and creators Laleña Garcia and Caryn Davidson share how they got involved in this important work and how they teach the principles to their students on a daily basis.
How We Can Live got its start as an activity book called What We Believe. These books feature the guiding principles in down-to-earth, child-friendly language, and questions on every spread encourage discussion of and reflection on the principles.
