Emmi S. Herman was born in New York City. She has worked as an educator, editor and writer. Emmi was inspired to write this story after watching children participate in Native American rodeos in Utah and Wyoming, and by the editors of IndianRodeoNews.com. She and her family live in Searingtown, New York.

Claire Louise Milne was born in Ontario, Canada. Of Inuit, French Canadian, and Cree ancestry, she enjoyed researching Native American rodeo culture for this book.
