Aamir Bermiss grew up in Brooklyn, New York, a son of an African American mother and a Puerto Rican father. He was the youngest of three boys, until his baby sister came along. They all lived in a big house filled with books and music. Aamir has a degree in jazz and music composition, and he has always liked to write.
