Cinco Puntos Press
Cinco Puntos Press (CPP) originated as an independent press founded by husband-and-wife team Bobby and Lee Byrd in 1985. It had the unique distinction of being based in El Paso, Texas, not three miles north of the US-Mexican Border. From its corner of the universe, Cinco Puntos Press would go on to publish amazing works with great acclaim, highlighting voices not often heard within the publishing industry. In 2021, Cinco Puntos Press was acquired by Lee & Low Books after the Byrds’ retirement. The imprint continues to publish picture books, middle grade, and young adult books that highlight the unsung hero in honest and fascinating ways, as well as featuring stories from Texas, Border, Latine, and Native life.
